I went vegan as a teenager (thanks mum!) Over time, my vegan lifestyle has become part of my identity. It helps alleviate some of my guilt and concerns about climate change and treatment of animals. Nonetheless, I remain cognisant of my personal footprint (I fly more than I would like to) and am keen to live more minimally and sustainably.
I started cooking very early on in life. My Hyderabadi upbringing clearly impacts my cooking, my first dish was veggie biryani. I've been told by friends and family that running a vegan restaurant could be my alternate career. While that has not materialised (so far), I enjoy feeding my loved ones. I also enjoy volunteer stints and putting my skills to good use.
I was lucky to grow up with dogs. They taught me to love unconditionally. They also taught me to be compassionate and empathetic towards animals. Apart from leading a plant-based lifestyle, my longstanding aspirations to enhance animal welfare include volunteering for Wildlife SOS Agra, and the Blue Cross in Hyderabad.
